Hello there! My name is Cindy Matt and I’m a still-life photographer based in Sarnia, Ontario. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with the places and objects that have been touched by time and forgotten by the present. I’ve always been described as an ‘old soul,’ so I’m sure that has something to do with it, but I also believe that many of these places and objects have the potential to tell amazing stories, yet more often than not they end up being forgotten and their stories remain untold. So as a photographer, my goal is to make romance out of ruin and bring those otherwise untold stories to life. Most of the photos I take tend to be of abandoned buildings and weathered objects, as well as various antiques and classic cars. But no matter what subject I’m taking pictures of, I always strive to inspire. When you come across my photographs, it is my hope that you will see the world in a way you would have never been able to before. As a result, I hope that you will not only learn something about the content of the photos, but that you will also find you learned something about yourself.
