Karen has had a passion for photography her whole life. She received her first camera for her grade 8 graduation. Her love of photography stems from her grandmother. As a child she would sit for hours with her grandma looking at family photos and listening to the stories of her history. Seeing how important photos were to her family sparked something within her.

After losing her father in 2008 and realizing the last photo they had together was at her high school graduation in 2000 she vowed to not let the moment slip away from her. In reflection of her dad's life it showed he also carried a passion for photography.

In 2012 Karen received her first DSLR camera as a gift from her husband. She took a night class at Lambton college as a starting place. After her night classes she found a passion for nature photography. She would spend hours chasing the birds, bees and sunsets. Soon she began photographing family members as well. This soon turned into a small side business of working with families and photographing them in the special moments.
