Hi! Iā€™m Chris Moore. I am photographer, printer and framer working out of my shop in Corunna, Ontario.

The first 30 years of my career I was a mechanical designer working in the automotive, defence and the oil and gas industries. Although this was a job I loved, I wanted to be more artistic with my creativity. I began to realize that my photographic hobby was something I wanted to peruse on a full-time basis.

I spent a few years in self-study of photography, then decided I needed to embrace this education and enrolled as a part time student in the Photography Program at Lambton College. While juggling work, family and other commitments I learned, and honed my photography skills. I found myself with a slight advantage in my education as skills from my previous career were very transferable to photography. Designing a widget and designing a photograph are very similar processes, using different tools.

While at Lambton College, I discovered the joy of making photography prints. Holding my first black and white print fresh off the printer was a magical experience. I made the decision to focus on my business on printing and framing, and my photography will focus on personal projects and creating fine art photographs.

Being new to this career, it is exciting to see the many different paths that printing can follow. Inkjet or giclee printing will always be the backbone of my business but add to that learning of traditional print making processes, and new technology that is developed, the creative possibilities are endless.
